The Executive Director of the National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN), Aba, Prof. Ogbonna Onuoha, officially initiated a landscaping project to revitalize the Institute’s grounds. This initiative serves a dual purpose: enhancing the campus’s physical beauty and significantly increasing its visibility to the public. During a brief ceremony at the site, Prof. Onuoha explained that opening up the premises to make them more visible from the outside is a strategic move to advance the general image and status of the Language Institute.

The Professor shared with the gathered management staff that he had identified this need early in his tenure. He observed that the removal of sand heaps, trees, and other obstructions was essential to create a more attractive and welcoming environment for visitors. Furthermore, he maintained that the Institute should not be deterred by financial constraints when embarking on such necessary improvements, given the significant inherent benefits these projects provide. He also took the opportunity to encourage his staff to remain proactive in identifying similar opportunities to improve the Institute’s reputation and prospects.

The event was attended by a distinguished group of principal officers and senior management, including the Registrar, Mrs. Charity Ijoma; the Bursar, Mr. Kolawole Aliu; and the Institute Librarian, Prof. Cyprian Ugwu. Also, in attendance to witness the flag-off were the Director of Works, Arch. Emeka Izuwah; the Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Chris Nwankwor; and the Director of Personnel Services, Mrs. Dympna Abangwu.
