Mrs. Kelechi Iwuchukwu was born on February 22, 1960. She
holds a Bachelor of Education (1990) from the University of Calabar and
NCE(1984) from the Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri. The National Youth
Service Corps(NYSC) scheme took her to the Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala, Anambra
State, after which she worked as a teacher in Imo and Abia States Education
Management Boards between 1990 and 1994.
She joined the services of the National Institute for Nigerian Languages(NINLAN), Aba, in February 1994, as an Administrative Officer 1. She rose through the ranks of the Administrative cadre to become a Principal Assistant Registrar(PAR) in January 2003 and became Head of the Institute's Academic Registry made up of two units: Admissions, and Examinations & Records.
In October 2012, she was promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrar. In December 2014, she was redeployed to head the Central Registry/Establishment and was subsequently appointed the Acting Registrar of NINLAN.
In this position, she oversaw the stabilization of the Registry and NINLAN following the demerging of the Institute from University of Nigeria, Nsukka(UNN) and the restoration of the Institute's autonomy. She served in this capacity until her appointment as Registrar in August, 2016.
With twenty six(26) years of uninterrupted service in the Registry, Mrs. Iwuchukwu has a rich plethora of administrative knowledge from where the Institute draws. She is conversant with Academic staff matters, Personnel issues, staff appointments, staff welfare, general administrative matters, and has worked with three (3) Executive Directors.
She has, inspite of her heavy workload, served in various Committees : Task Force on Capital Projects, Review of the Institute's Scheme and Condition of Service, Implementation of the Programme for non-language Graduates to become Teachers of Nigerian Languages, among others.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA), and member, Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (MANUPA).
Her hobbies include Reading, Philanthropy, and listening to Christan music.
